Three girls’ teams from west top-seeded in state tourney
Half of the high school girl’s basketball teams who are top-seeded in this weekend’s state tournament hail from western Nebraska.

Longhorns end season in district final
After a tough loss to Grand Island Central Catholic (GICC) in the C1 district final Monday night, the Chase County Longhorns ended their 2018-19 season with a 16-6 record.
Jayvees finish with win
The Longhorn JV team ended its 2018-19 season 13-3, with a win over Sutherland, 66-45, on Friday.
Junior Bennett Bauerle led the JV team with 20 points in the game.
