Statistics improve in most areas for Lady Longhorns

As Coach Mark Bottom looks back on his Lady Longhorn girls’ basketball season, he rates it nothing more than successful.
Finishing 14-10 bettered the 2017-18 record of 12-11, and a look at statistics shows improvement in most areas.
But, what Coach Bottom is most happy with is how the team ended its 2018-19 campaign.
“We finished really well down the stretch,” he said.
That included the last regular season win over Cambridge, who had a week earlier handed North Platte St. Pat’s its first and only regular season loss.
That big win carried into the post-season, when Chase County beat two higher seeded teams in Hershey and Ogallala at sub-districts before advancing to the district final the second time in three years.
There, they gave Wahoo a good game, Bottom said.
He felt they played Wahoo better than Adams Central, who faced Wahoo in the first round of the state tournament.
