Lois L. Gibb Avise - May 06, 2010

Lois L. Gibb Avise was born Aug. 8, 1920 at Imperial, Neb., the daughter of Walter and Louva (Cummings) Gibb.
She attended school at Imperial and graduated from Chase County High School.
She was united in marriage to Lyle Jesse Avise on May 22, 1939 at Enders, Neb.
While in Nebraska she worked at a grocery store and in 1955 the family moved to Kansas and then to California in 1963.
In 1978 her husband passed away and she moved to Madison with her son, Gary, in 1989. She had been a resident of the Prairie View apartments the past several years.
She enjoyed to play bingo and to visit and have coffee with her friends.
Lois died Friday, April 2, 2010 at Madison Community Hospital.
Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Gary, (Donna) Avise, of Madison, S.D.; two grandsons, Jerry Avise of Tulsa, Okla., Mark Avise of Salina, Kan.; granddaughter DeeAnn Commerford, Salina, Kan.; along with several great and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and a brother.
Memorial service was held April 6 at Randall Funeral Home in Madison, S.D. with Rev. Conrad Krahling officiating.
Inurnment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Covina Hills, Calif.
