| Swim team readies for first meet |

By Carolyn LeeThe Imperial Republican With a slight increase in numbers over last year, the Imperial Swim Team is preparing for its first meet Saturday. About 40 youngsters will compete in Bird City, Kan., up from about 36 youthlast year. Practices started May 27 under the direction of Head Coach Michelle Wilson and Assistant Coach Levi Wooden. An exciting aspect of having a new swimming pool is that the qualifying meet for the Plains Tsunami Swim League, of which Imperial is a member, will be held in Imperial July 11. A total of 25 teams are expected to compete. The Swim Team’s schedule is as follows:
