If you need to do some Christmas shopping, or need to get into the Christmas spirit, Chase County is the place to be this weekend. You can choose to attend the Freedoms Foundation Christmas House in Imperial or a Vision of Trees in Champion.
The weekend kicks off with the Chase County chapter of Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge fundraising Christmas House at the Adams Lumber Kitchen Design Center from 9-11 a.m. Saturday.
Guests are asked to use the south door to enter. On sale will be baked goods, crafts, the famous rhunza sandwiches and more.
In addition, raffle tickets will be sold and the winners announced for an artificial holiday wreath from The Added Touch and two season passes to CCS Longhorn sports events for the 2014-15 school year.
The event raises money for the annual student trip to Washington, D.C. and Valley Forge, Penn.
The fun continues with the ninth annual Vision of Trees at the Champion Community Center Saturday and Sunday.
Sponsored by the Champion Junior Women’s Club, the event raises money for local projects.
Trees will be decorated with Christmas themes, a silent auction will be held, crafts and baked goods will be sold and a raffle for a number of items will be held.
Winners for the silent auction and raffle will be announced Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
A potato bake will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and a homemade soup luncheon will be served Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Various musical entertainment will be offered Saturday, including the 9th Street Singers at 1 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be available for pictures Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
