By Carolyn LeeThe Imperial Republican There will be bugs in the Children’s Theatre Company of South Dakota’s musical performance this weekend, but they won’t be problem bugs. They’ll be fireflies and scorpions, along with penguins, cactus plants and a number of Bigfoots, er, Bigfeets. Those are just some of the roles cast earlier this week for “Treasure Hunt,” featuring five-year olds through sixth graders from Chase County Schools. Brittany Drullinger and Tarah Fink of the Children’s Theatre led tryouts Monday, followed by practices every day this week after school. Performances will be at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday at the CCS auditorium. Tickets are $4 for students, $6 for seniors and $8 for adults. The Chase County Area Arts Council (CCAAC) is sponsoring the performances. CCAAC members are admitted free of charge. The story is about a group of Mishmashers who form a club. In order to find riches to save their club, they have to brave fireflies, penguins, mountain trolls and more.
