Fisher: Chase County Schools’ place on ‘low achievement list’ doesn’t reflect academics PDF Print E-mail

School Supt. Matt Fisher said it’s “sad” that Chase County Schools Elementary ended up on a federal “lowest achieving school list.”
The new federal list,  released last month, was required by the Obama Administration.
The reason Chase County’s K-6 grades in Imperial are on that list, Fisher said, was because they didn’t meet the student testing minimum of 95% participation required by the feds when students take the state standards tests in reading and math.
CCS has been designated as needing improvement in the testing percentage areas the last two years, Fisher said, because they were at 93% of the student testing numbers instead of 95%.
