Young speech team rates notice at home meet PDF Print E-mail

A number of speech students at Chase County Schools received recognition during the Longhorn Invitational Speech Tournament in Imperial Saturday.
Most of the team is new to speech contests, according to Coach Jill Bauerle. She commended them on a “job well done.”
Best novice in the division went to April Bernard in Serious Prose. Spencer Hartman was named best novice and took fourth in Extemporaneous, while Bryan Bischoff received a fourth place medal in Humorous Prose.
Third place in Oral Interpretation of Drama went to the team of Tyler Talbott, Lucas Bauerle, Malissa Martinez and Paul Gaschler.
Emily Johnston and Joel Fisher received excellent ratings in their divisions.
Perkins County High School placed first in the tournament, with Paxton High School second and North Platte St. Pat’s third. CCS tied for fourth with Southwest Public Schools.
Other schools participating were Hershey and Wauneta-Palisade High Schools.
