Fall rodeo season underway PDF Print E-mail

The 2009-10 Nebraska fall high school rodeo season is underway. CCS sophomore Shelby Frasier is among the competitors, and has competed in several rodeos already this fall.
The season opened Aug. 8-9 in Bassett, where Frasier placed fourth in barrels with a time of 18.775.
At Lexington Aug. 22-23, a new site for high school rodeo this year, she took first with a time of 18.346.
Then it was on to Bloomfield Aug. 29, which previously featured an indoor setup for the barrel race, but this year, all events were held in the outdoor arena.
At Bloomfield, Frasier was fifth in the barrels the first day, then was sixth the second day with a time of 18.111. She also placed 10th in pole bending with a time of 22.576.
This weekend, Sept. 5-6, will take the rodeo competitors to Nelson, followed by Broken Bow Sept. 12-13, with the fall season finale in North Platte on Sept. 19-20.
There are 12 fall rodeos and another 16 in the spring on the Nebraska high school schedule.
