Friday proved to be a tough night for last week’s SPVA champions in action in Imperial Friday.
On the boys’ side, SPVA champ Chase County went down to Hershey 68-76.

Lady Longhorns capture third in SPVA tourney

Despite a No. 5 seed in January’s annual SPVA Conference Tournament, the Lady Longhorns captured third place Saturday, defeating a spirited Bridgeport team, the No. 2 seed, 45-39.

In the finals of the 220 pound division at the Chadron Invite, Eli Hinojosa gets hold of a leg to make sure Yahav Shraiber of Natrona, Wyo., doesn’t get an escape. Eli Hinojosa used his bull-rush double leg takedown on Tripp Nicholson of Hershey to set up a pin at the 2:49 mark in his fourth match of the day. That set up a rematch with Ryan Christensen of Ogallala in the finals. Hinojosa took just 21 seconds for that pin to take first place in the 220 pound class and keep his perfect record intact.
