It’s been awhile since the Chase County girls have posed with the SPVA Conference championship basketball plaque, but it happened Saturday as the Lady Longhorns defeated Bridgeport for the title. It’s been 37 years since the last Chase County girls’ SPVA basketball championship.

It’s been a long time coming—37 years—but Chase County’s girls broke the drought Saturday, winning the SPVA basketball title.
The week of SPVA tournament play started off strong for the Longhorns with a home win against Perkins County.
Out of Chase County’s 73 total points, 51 of those came from 3-pointers.
Chase County wrestlers were at two very different meets and levels of competition the past week, but gained valuable experience at both.
On the home court in Imperial Jan. 21, Chase County’s junior high boys’ team won four of the six games they hosted with Ogallala.
