After a 60-43 win over Ord in the first round of the Sidney Holiday Tournament, the Chase County boys’ basketball team split games with McCook and Gordon-Rushville to end last week’s tournament.

Freshman Peyton Cox has patrolled the lane for the Wauneta-Palisade Lady Broncos this season, including battling four St. Pat’s players at the Arapahoe Holiday Tournament. Cox had 21 rebounds the following day against Arapahoe.
It took longer than expected, but the Wauneta-Palisade girls’ basketball team is 6-4 after losing to North Platte St. Pat’s and beating Arapahoe at last week’s Arapahoe Holiday Tournament.

Eli Hinojosa, a state wrestling champ his senior year at Chase County, is now wrestling at the college level, and has dropped 65 lbs. to move into the 197 lbs. class at Chadron State College, which opens its season this week.
A heavyweight during his first two years on the Chadron State College wrestling team, Eli Hinojosa of Imperial has shed about 65 lbs. and will compete at 197 lbs.
Chase County’s wrestlers will travel to Saturday’s Garden County Invitational after a three-week holiday break.
