Free throw contest on tap for Saturday

    Youths age 9-14 can compete in a local free throw shooting contest Saturday sponsored by the Imperial Knights of Columbus.
    The event starts at 11:30 a.m. at Chase County Schools in its auxiliary gym. Activities Director Troy Hauxwell said people can enter the gym through the east doors after parking in the east lot.
    Boys and girls will compete separately, as they attempt 15 free throws from the line.
    Forms will be available that day at the gym. Youths should come early to sign up.
    Winners from the local contest have the chance to advance on to additional contests at the district and state levels.
    Wauneta will host the district contest on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 1:30 p.m.
