Monday morning at 9;30 am, the fire whistle sounded, calling the IVFD, Imperial EMS and the Imperial Police to the high school building. All the students were evacuated out onto the school grounds, while the fire department went in and checked the school to see if there was a fire or just a faulty sensor. Fortunately, no fire was found and the students returned to their classrooms. Later in the day, the school put out a call that there would be no school on Tuesday, March 4, due to a predicted blizzard bringing 1-5 inches of snow with 60+ mile an hour winds.
