Quizbowl team finishes 4th

Last Wednesday, the Chase County Quizbowl team traveled to Bartley to compete at the district level. To qualify for state, the team had to finish in the top two against the other schools. The teams that also competed were Dundy County Stratton, Hayes Center, Hitchcock County, McCook, Medicine Valley, Southwest, and Wauneta-Palisade.
After the competition of the competition, the Longhorns had 5 wins and only two losses. They lost to McCook and Medicine Valley with the scores of 30-70 and 35-50, respectively. Their highest point scoring match was against Hitchcook County with the score of 60 to 0.
The champion of the tournament was Dundy County.. Chase County was the only team to beat the Tigers. In second was McCook, and in third was Medicine Valley. The Longhorns came in 4th with a combined score of 315. This was a sad finish to the Longhorns season due to being only two ranks away from qualifying to state.
