CCS FFA compete at State Convention

The Nebraska FFA held the State Competition last weekend in Lincoln. The Imperial FFA Chapter had several groups and individuals that placed in the various competitions.
Imperial’s Parliamentary Procedure Team earned runner-up State Champion Honors, out of the 36 teams competing. The team consisted of, Navy Havel, Myla Brown, Malachi Christensen, Beau Weiss, Tessa Smith and Jasmine Johnson.
The Imperial FFA Conduct of Chapter Meeting Team placed fifth out of 36 teams. Members participating wereSawyer Sauder, Dietrich Pursley, Bennett Kuenning, Aiden Tomky, Alayna Smith, Gigi Schaufenbuel and Violet Sparrow.
Five CCS students earned the highest degree you can earn on the state level, the coveted State FFA Degree. They are Jasmine Johnson, Malachi Christensen, Myla Brown, Peyton Owens and Westyn Mendenhall.
Jasmine Johnson was the silver medalist in FFA SR. Public Speaking and Peyton Owens was runner-up State Champion for Poultry Proficiency.
The following Imperial FFA Members placed in the top 50% or better in their respective contests, which included, Agriscience, Ag Sales, Agronomy, Food Science and Jr. and Sr. Livestock Judging.
Purple Ribbon Winners were: Aiden Tomky, Aiden Vlasin, Damon Spady, Jaxsen Villarreal, Anna Aaragon, Westyn Mendenhall and Jayme Gittlein.
Blue Ribbon Winners were: Conner Stromberger, Violet Sparrow, Odessa ZadinaJames Adle, Charlie Johnson and Peyton Owens.
Red Ribbon Winners were: Kadence Wallin and Dominic Harris and White Ribbon winner was Wyatt Krausnick.
Two Junior High FFA Teams placed at the State Convention. The State Champion Ag Quiz Bowl Team was from Imperial. The team consisted of Hayden Fowler, Clayson Thayer, Sawyer Sauder and Bennett Kuenning.
Imperial also had the third place Ag Quiz Bowl Team with Tatum May, Dietrich PursleyTruman Olsen and Hayden Worth. There were 128 teams competing in the junior high division and 512 students.
Arlys Cupp and Kim Bubak were the coaches for the junior high participants. See page 5 for more.
