Several dozen youths got a chance to cool off and have a good time at the city pool last Thursday. They were trying their luck at the penny dive as part of the Chase County Fair.

As thunderstorms held off moving into the area, Hendricks Cattle Company once more held off all competition at the Chase County Fair’s Ranch Rodeo Aug. 15.
The weather was perfect for 31 youths and their turtles who competed in the turtle races last Wednesday at the fairgrounds.
Prescribed burns are planned on some Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s wildlife management areas (WMA) and state parks, where weather conditions allow.
