Don Peterson - April 30, 2009

Don Clair Peterson was born Aug. 31, 1928, to Leonard M. and Edith M. (Gifford) Peterson in Imperial, Neb.
Don grew up in Chase County and attended country grade school and Chase County High School. After high school, Don assisted his parents on the family farm until being inducted to the U.S. Army in 1950. He served during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in November of 1952. Don then returned to Chase County and farming. He resided on the family farm for many years until failing health made it necessary for him to move into Imperial.
Don was a member of the NRA and the VFW. Don was an avid gun collector and enjoyed a new find for his collection whenever he could.
Don passed away Thursday afternoon, April 16, 2009, at the Chase County Hospital in Imperial. He was 80 years of age.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wayne and sister Bev Cooper.
Survivors include sister, Barbara Cline and husband, Harvey of Glendive, Mont.; sister-in-law, Roselene Peterson of Billings, Mont.; nieces, Diann Floth and husband, Errwin, of Billings, Mont. and Janet Peterson and Les Hedquist of Red Lodge, Mont.; two great nieces, Morgan and Alison Floth of Billings, Mont.
Memorial services for Don Peterson were held Monday morning, April 20, 2009, 10:30 a.m. (MT) at the United Methodist Church in Imperial, with Pastor Kay Alnor officiating.
Inurnment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
A memorial has been established in Don’s memory.
Liewer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
