CCS eSports teams earns state title, runner up

In its inaugural season, the Chase County Esports team has seen a lot of success. On April 26th, State Championships were held for the spring Esports season at Concordia University.
For the spring season, CCS had two Rocket League teams. Team 1 consisted of seniors Jesus Medina and Walker Mollendor and juniors Navy Smith and substitute Tuck Hubbard. Team 2 included juniors Tuck Hubbard, Riley Wentworth and freshman Riley Wenthworth. Team 2 did not make it to the state tournament but Team 2–which went undefeated during the regular season–ended up the 3rd seed.  
Rocket League Team 1 won their first match 3-0 against David City 2 to advance to the championship round. In the final, Team 1 lost 1-3 to David City 2 earning the title of State Runner-Up.
Two Fortnite teams also advanced to the State Championship. Playing for Team 1 was Jesus Medina and junior Adan Perez. Team 2 included junior Danny Frias and sophomore Bryan Martinez. Junior Jesus Juarez was the substitute for both teams.
Fortnite Team 2 came in as the 12th seed. Their first match was against their own Team 1, which resulted in a loss. Their second match against Syracuse 2 and also resulted in a loss. Against Winnebago 2, they won to earn 7th place overall.
Fortnite Team 1 started as the 4th seed with just one loss in their regular season. They won their first two matches against Chase County 2 and David City 2, advancing to the championship match. They continued their streak and beat out David City 1 to win the State title.
