Linda Jean Wallin - March 29, 2012


Linda Jean Burrell was born on March 22, 1948, in Alexandria, Va. to Harold and Beatrice Burrell. She had fiery red hair, sparkling blue eyes, a big heart, bubbly laugh and was always up for a practical joke. Linda loved life, family, helping others and generally having fun.
She grew up in Virginia and later moved to Colorado with her family. She worked as a nurses’ aide at General Rose Hospital in Aurora, Colo. until she married Dan Wallin and they moved to Imperial, Neb. to join the family farming operation. The marriage was later dissolved.
While living in Imperial, Linda worked for Penelope’s, Wauneta Heritage, Imperial Manor, The Added Touch and T-Junction.
While working at the Manor, she enjoyed doing little things for the residents like painting their nails, styling their hair, reading to them and many other things to make their lives more enjoyable.
Linda was involved in Mrs. Jaycees, 4-H, the Berean Church and Imperial Bible Church, as well as various Bible study groups and card clubs.
She loved animals. She had many pet cats over the years but was also known to take in stray or orphaned animals of all types. She also loved cooking, gardening, reading, listening to music, watching movies and shopping at thrift and antique stores.
Linda passed away March 10, 2012, in Bremerton, Wash. after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jeanette Alexander.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Brad) Fornoff, Worthington, Minn.; son, Chad (Mel) Wallin, Imperial, Neb.; grandchildren, Chantel, Marcheta and Andrew Fornoff; great-granddaughter, Bria; brother, Ronald (Pam) Burrell, Aurora, Colo.; sister, Debbie (Jerry) Avery, Aurora, Colo.; brother-in-law, Babe Alexander, Whidbey Island, Wash.; sister-in-law, Pat Wallin, Imperial, Neb.; many nieces and nephews; long-time companion, Chris Statz, Tahuya, Wash.; special, long-time friends, Penny Teply, Imperial, Neb. and Mary Brush, Kansas City, Mo. and many other relatives and friends.
