Lois Wedel - February 02, 2012
Lois Ann Wedel, of Imperial, Neb., age 79, passed away Jan. 25, 2012.
She was born on Aug. 7, 1932 in Hanston, Kan. to Francis Eugene (Buss) Seaman and Alta Blanche Bailey Seaman.
Lois was the devoted wife of Dr. Merle Dwight Wedel, a noted chiropractor in Stillwater, Okla. They were married on Nov. 22, 1951 in Hanston, Kan., and to this union, three children were born, Dwight, Annette and Mark.
Lois and her husband, Merle moved to Stillwater in 1958 where she raised her family, assisted in her husband’s clinic and was a valuable member of the community. She was an avid volunteer in many organizations, some of which included the Girl Scouts, the Stillwater hospital and church. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and then the University Baptist.
In 2002, she moved to Bixby, Okla. after her husband’s death. In 2011 she moved to Imperial, Neb. to an assisted living facility where she passed away.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Merle; her parents, Buss and Alta Seaman; and her brothers, Tony and Dennis Seaman.
Survivors include her children, Dwight, and his wife, Pam, of Shawnee, Okla.; Annette Longan of Imperial, Neb.; and Mark of Bixby, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial was held on Monday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Okla.arranged by Strode Funeral Home.
