Carol Lee Cooper, 78, of North Platte, Neb., died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at Linden Court in North Platte, Neb.
Carol was born Oct. 27, 1932, in Kingman, Kan., the sixth child of eight, to William Franklin and Cora Anna Robey Hubble. She grew up and received her education in Kingman.
On Dec. 21, 1952, Carol married Charles Arnold Cooper in Kingman, Kan. They made their home in Texas, as Charles worked in the oil fields. They resided in several states including Oklahoma, New Mexico, Mississippi, Illinois and Nebraska, before settling in North Platte in 1968.
In 1972 Charles passed away.
After her family was raised, Carol decided to move back to Kansas. She returned to North Platte several years later and worked at various places. When her health began failing she moved to Linden Court in North Platte.
Carol enjoyed cooking, woodworking, traveling and caring for her family. The highlight of her travels was to the wedding of her granddaughter, Amber, in Hawaii. She attended the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Alvarez and special friend, Matt Feeney, of Maxwell, Neb., C.A. Cooper of Crato, Cearã, in northeast Brazil, and Clint and wife, Mindy Cooper, of Johnstown, Colo.; six grandchildren, Amber and husband, Chad Yaw, of Imper­ial, Neb., Angela and husband, Mike Nesvara, of North Platte, Neb., Travis and wife, Kara Lee of North Platte, Neb., Tara and husband, Joe Johnson, of Omaha, Neb., Christopher Corr, of Aurora, Neb., and Joshua Corr, of Johnstown, Colo.; 12 great-grandchildren, Remington Yaw, Jecca Yaw, Bodie Yaw, Samantha Nesvara, Austin Nesvara, Dalton Nesvara, Stephanie Lee, Zachary Lee, Mason Lee, Holden Hupfer, Tyce Lee and Taci Lee; one brother, Ted Hubble, of Arkansas City, Kan.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; infant son, Calvin J. Cooper; three brothers, Bill Hubble, Clyde Hubble and Paul Hubble; three sisters, Myrna Struble, Fran Shawn and Kay Hockett.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore in North Platte, Neb., with Chaplain Gary Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens south of North Platte.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be on Thursday prior to the service.
