Robert ‘Bob’ Reichardt - December 17, 2009

Robert “Bob” Reichardt, age 77, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, with memorial mass scheduled Wednesday morning, Dec. 16 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Born in McCook, Neb., to Frank and Nannie Reichardt, Bob grew up in Imperial, Neb, graduating from Chase County High School in 1950.
He loved University of Nebraska football where he had a football scholarship. He enlisted in the Coast Guard after college.
After years in the service, which included a tour in the Philippines, he moved to Chicago, Ill., where he met his bride, Bernadette. They lived in Wisconsin and Illinois before moving to Grand Rapids, Mich., where they have lived the last 40 years.
He was a great friend to the Friday lunch group and the once a month poker guys.
He understood and appreciated the power of the written and spoken word, whether it was reading the Lord’s Word at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish or The Best Loved Poems of the American People at family gatherings.
He left many happy brides with the wonderful photos he took of their weddings. His hand will always be on the Immaculate Heart of Mary golf league as a former president to the league and the sport he loved.
A daughter, Laurie Reul, preceded him in death eight years ago.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Bernadette; sons, Greg and John; daughters-in-law, Jill Reichardt and Janene Weis; son-in-law, Chad Reul; an adopted daughter, Jane Smith; four grandchildren, Ellie and Anna Reichardt and Ian and Lucas Reul. He was best friend to Guy Curtis and family.
