Arlyn C. Davison Sr. - August 20, 2009

Arlyn C. Davison Sr. passed away peacefully Aug. 7, 2009 at the Wray Community District Hospital with several family members present.
Arlyn and twin sister, Arlene, were born to Clay and Rachel Davison on April 16, 1925, six miles west of Champion on the family farm.
He attended Chase County Rural Schools and graduated from Chase County High School in Imperial in 1942.
He entered the US Army and served in France and Germany during World War II.
He returned home and met Bonny Lyle Caldwell at a barn dance near Champion, Neb. They were married a year and half later.
Arlyn and Bonny moved to Madrid, Neb. to farm and daughter, Mary, was born in 1949.
Arlyn moved his family to Elbert, Colo. to continue farming and second daughter, Bonny, was born in 1951.
The family moved to Gunnison, Colo. where Arlyn ranched and in 1958 son, Arlyn Jr., was born.
Arlyn became the State Water Commissioner while in Gunnison. While serving as Commissioner, Arlyn served the areas of Gunnison, Golden, San Luis Valley and Wray where he retired after 23 years of service.
Arlyn was a renown hunter, avid fisherman and trapshooter. Arlyn and Bonny purchased Windmill Knob at Lake McConaughy in Nebraska where they spent a majority of their retirement years.
Arlyn is survived by Bonny, his wife of 62 years; daughters, Mary (Dennis) and Bonny (Irv) and son, Arlyn Jr. (Deb); grandchildren are Rachel and Daniel Southards, Shiloh and Chuck Hunt, Trisha and Aaron Karney, Jordan Davison, Keenan Davison, Shayne and Scott Whitson and Jayme Krasowski; great grandchildren are Isaac, Terek and Hallie Southards, Josiah, Elijah and Arlyn Hunt, Charly, Tripp and Maddox Karney.
