Jesse Callahan and Shelby Fraiser, both from Imperial, completed their high school rodeo season last weekend at the state finals in Hastings.
For Callahan, it was the final rodeo of his high school career after graduating from Wauneta this spring.
Callahan competed in the steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding and team roping.
His best finish came in the first go-round in the steer wrestling when he placed sixth with a tie of 9.98.
He also made Saturday’s short-go in the saddle bronc riding.
In the barrels, Shelby Frasier turned in some of the fastest times in both of her go-rounds but had the misfortune of knocking over a barrel each go.
Her point totals during the season still qualified her for the short-go Saturday where she finished ninth with a time of 22.692 after downing another barrel.
