Glass needs satisfied at Chase County Glass PDF Print E-mail

■ Editor’s note: This is one in a series of features that will spotlight businesses in Imperial. The community has a thriving business community, and all residents may not realize the extent of services and products local businesses provide. This feature will be a regular offering throughout the year and beyond, and will include those businesses with a commercial address located outside of the home.

Jerry Clark and his wife, Sharon, have been operating Chase County Glass for 26 years. Located at 341 West 3rd Street, Clark’s business repairs and replaces windshields, back glass, side view mirrors, house windows and laminated cab windows or safety glass.
The most difficult jobs, Clark said, are “probably the way new windshields are designed,” and cutting laminated glass.
An interesting aspect of Chase County Glass is that Clark can custom fit side view mirrors for cars, pickups and trucks. “I’ve done thousands of them through the years,” he noted.
Preparing templates and building the mirrors eliminates the need for purchasing a new one from the auto maker, he pointed out.
Hours at Chase County Glass are by appointment, but Clark said his shop is usually open.
