Chase County’s girls’ varsity team ran into a tough opponent Tuesday night in first round SPVA tournament action.
The No. 6 seeded Lady Longhorns lost a one-sided contest to No. 3 Hershey, 19-56, at North Platte Community College.
The loss sends Chase County into the consolation game this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. MT, against Maxwell, the No. 4 seeded team.
Maxwell lost its first round game Tuesday to Perkins County, 55-35, sending them into the game for fifth and sixth place against the Lady Longhorns.
Perkins County will now meet top-seeded Sutherland Friday night, while Hershey plays No. 2 North Platte St. Pat’s, also on Friday.
Winners of those two semi-final games will play for the SPVA championship Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. MT.
