Ushering in Halloween PDF Print E-mail

The days were sunny and warm, the pumpkins were shiny and the children were everywhere at the Cox’s Ponds pumpkin patch. The hayrack rides to the corn maze were full on every trip, parents with cameras were busy snapping their children in “photo op” areas, the hot dogs provided by a local bank ran out, and people were still munching on cookies provided by the Cox and Cupp families of Champion. The annual pumpkin patch drew a large number of people over the weekend. This was the 25th year the Cox and Cupp families hosted the Halloween event. Navy Smith of Imperial, above left, was helping his family pick out one of the large pumpkins available for sale. Bryson Burnett, 11 months, of Holyoke, Colo., above right, relaxed after having his picture taken by his parents. At right, crowds wait to take the hayrack ride to the corn maze and graveyard tour at Cox’s Ponds. (Republican photos)
