Hospital Foundation, donor provide new pediatric crash cart funding PDF Print E-mail

A new emergency crash cart designed specifically for infants and young children was recently purchased and is ready for use at Chase County Community Hospital.
The pediatric crash cart system supplies hospital emergency room staff with information and equipment needed for emergency resuscitation of young patients.
Each of the cart’s drawers is colored coded according to the patient’s weight and length so that correctly sized supplies and equipment are stored together. Each drawer contains essential equipment such as oxygen masks and supplies used to open airways of infants and young children.
The Chase County Hospital Foundation and an anonymous donor provided funds necessary to purchase the pediatric crash cart.  Total cost of the cart was $1,500.  The Foundation provided $1,000 towards the purchase and remaining cost was covered by the donor.
“The new crash cart is an important addition that expands emergency room capabilities.  It’s a piece of equipment that you hope never gets used yet it is good to know we have a resource that could safe the life of a young child,” said Randy Vlasin, director of the CC Hospital Foundation.
