Work underway on new lift station PDF Print E-mail

Activity has picked up in the northeast section of Imperial’s Campbell Park as Myers Construction, Inc., of Broken Bow started work on the new sewer lift station this week. On Tuesday, company owner Perry Myers, at right, oversees the work of his son, Chris, as he operates the backhoe. A gaping hole is being created in that area of the park, in which the lift station equipment, which has been sitting in that area for weeks, will be placed. Chris Myers said the equipment and collection tubes will be down in the ground 36 feet. With cooperative weather, the work could be done in 35 to 40 days. The lift station is costing the city about $200,000 and was part of Myers Construction’s bid that included the Broadway and East 12th Street water main work completed this summer and fall. The old lift station also in the park will remain in service until the new one is completed. (Republican photo)
