“Nebraska farmers, ranchers, and landowners need to make sure they have completed farm program signup at their local FSA office by Friday, Aug. 14, 2009,” noted FSA State Executive Director Dan Steinkruger. “We have three major activities that end on Friday.”
Acreage reports for the 2009 crop year may be filed until Aug.14. Acreage reports for 2009 are a condition of eligibility for farm programs.
Earlier deadlines were extended to align with the ACRE signup.
The 2009 Direct and Counter-cyclical (DCP) and 2009 Average Crop Revenue Election (ACRE) enrollment deadline is Friday, Aug. 14, 2009.
The DCP program and the new ACRE program dates were extended from June 1 to give agricultural producers more time to consider their options.
Steinkruger added, “We know this is a busy time on Nebraska farms and ranches. We ask that producers take time to coordinate their final 2009 program decisions with their local FSA office.
“These program and signature requirements must be met by Friday, Aug. 14, and will not be extended, he said.
He noted that all requests for an enrollment appointment must be made by the Aug. 14th deadline.
FSA offices that cannot handle all appointments by that date will have the option of using a register.”
