Alan Carman| The Imperial Republican At the Veterans Memorial in front of the Chase County Courthouse, there are some improvements taking place. Spady Construction was hired to build a structure to cover the kiosk portion of the memorial. Pivot Electric is in charge of the wiring and installation of the lights and Jason Kirkpatrick, of Kirkpatrick Masonry in Grant, is laying the brick columns on each of the four corners. The project is scheduled to be completed, along with a new kiosk, before memorial weekend. Pictured above are some of the workers and members of the Veterans Memorial Committee. Alumni of both Chase County Schools and Wauneta-Palisade Schools will be gathering over Memorial weekend to reminisce over their school years.

The Chase County FBLA chapter made its way to the Younes Conference Center in Kearney on April 11 to compete at the State FBLA competition.

Things were starting to look grim for the Chase County boys’ track team Saturday morning in Omaha at the state meet.
