CCS students compete at state FBLA, qualify for nationals

The Chase County FBLA chapter made its way to the Younes Conference Center in Kearney on April 11 to compete at the State FBLA competition. This competition had both a high school level and a middle school level.
In the high school level, the Parliamentary Procedure Team of Malachi Christensen, Navy Havel, Tessa Smith and Anna Aragon took home 1st place and secured a spot in the National FBLA competition in Orlando, FL. Junior Ava McNair earned fifth place in Word Processing and eighth place in Spreadsheet Applications. Sophomore Anna Aragon earned fifth place in Intro to Public Speaking. Placing in the top 4% of participants and earning Honorable Mention were Harley Markee in Healthcare Administration and Andee Schoenholz in Introduction to Business Communications.
In the Middle School Level, Maria Adle and Chantal Vlasin placed first and second in FBLA Concepts, respectively, and achieved a spot at Nationals. Also in FBLA Concepts, Isla Jenkins placed fourth, Milinda Barrera placed sixth and Avery Jantz and Avery Cyboron earned Honorable Mention. Isla Jenkins placed second in Business Etiquette, earning her a place at Nationals. Maria Adle placed fourth and Milinda Barrera placed eighth, also in Business Etiquette. In Running an Effective Meeting, Edisyn Teply placed third, Maria Adle placed fourth, Tesslyn Pankonin placed fifth, Gigi Schaufenbuel earned sixth, Avery Jantz earned eighth and Milinda Barrera earned Honorable Mention. Isla Jenkins earned third place in Career Exploration and fifth place in Exploring Economics. Norah Weiss earned Honorable Mention in Exploring Economics.
All students attended a seminar, as well.
The National FBLA competition will take place in Orlando, FL from June 27-July 3.
