The Chase County wrestling team attended the Class C-4 district tournament in Valentine last weekend and qualified five wrestlers for the state meet in Omaha which starts today (Thursday).
Chase County’s Longhorn boys’ basketball team will close out the regular season with a home game Friday.
Chase County overcame a third quarter surge by Cozad to take a 49-32 win in Tuesday’s C1-11 subdistrict semifinal game in North Platte.

In a six-game sweep, the Imperial girls’ seventh grade basketball team won its division at last weekend’s youth tournament in Ogallala. On Saturday, Imperial defeated Hyannis 21-16, the North Platte Rebels 17-10 and Ogallala 28-16. On Sunday, Imperial went in as the #2 seed and first defeated seventh seed Perkins County, 18-2. They met Ogallala next, defeating them a second time, 24-18. That advanced Imperial to the finals, where they met North Platte Rebels again, who had earlier knocked off the #1 seed from Gering. Imperial claimed the championship with a 33-21 victory.
