Girls fall game short of state tournament berth

    Even though it was the first time in 17 years the Lady Longhorns played in a district title game, Friday night’s loss didn’t make it any easier for Chase County.

On to district title game for Lady Longhorns

    It’s been 17 years since the Chase County girls have advanced to the district title game in basketball, but the Lady Longhorns are on their way.

In the last 12 seconds of his match in the finals, Eli Hinojosa had three good pushes to score a takedown over Jason Hahlbeck of O’Neill, but each of them was defended and held off by Hahlbeck. Hahlbeck completed his undefeated season and repeated as champion but he will always remember that it was no easy feat, squeaking out a 1-0 win over Hinojosa in the finals. CCS cheerleaders gain valuable experience at state competition

    Last Saturday was the 10th annual Nebraska State High School Cheer and Dance  Championships where nearly 2,100 athletes from across the state represented their schools in both dance performance
