Just like several other events at this year’s Chase County Fair, numbers were up considerably for the Saturday afternoon motorcycle show on the main fairgrounds walkway.

Barrel racing can sometimes be one of the longer evenings of activities at the Chase County Fair. This year’s group of 76 riders moved quickly and efficiently through their rides Aug. 8.

With 21 Ranch Rodeo teams and 18 Ranch Bronc riders, there never was a dull moment Aug. 9 at the Chase County Fair.
Diane Stamm | The Imperial Republican Work is underway at the Area A boat ramp at Enders State Recreation Area. The ramp will be extended and a new breakwater created, among other plans.
Boating access improvements at Enders Reservoir State Recreation Area in southwest Nebraska have begun and are expected to last through the fall. Public access will be affected.
