Motorcycle owners flock in for show on main walkway

Just like several other events at this year’s Chase County Fair, numbers were up considerably for the Saturday afternoon motorcycle show on the main fairgrounds walkway.
ABATE Dist. 12 sponsors the annual event, which this year drew 30 bikes that glistened in the hot afternoon sun.
People were able to stop as they arrived or left the fairgrounds from noon to 3 p.m., after which judging and winners were announced.
Coordinator Brent Bussell of Imperial said 26 of the motorcycles were judged in the show. Some of the 30 on the grounds had to leave before judging began, he said.
Eighty-two votes were cast for the People’s Choice winner, which went to Bussell for his 2021 Harley Davidson Road Glide.
He said voting was tight for People’s Choice, with just a few votes separating those on top.
Other winners in the judging classes included:
Best Domestic, 2005 Harley Davidson Police Special, Gary Mohr, Imperial.
Best Metric, 2009 Kawasaki, Chase Einspahr, Lincoln.
Best Trike, 2021 Harley Davidson Tri-Glide, Tim Fegler, Benkelman.
Best Mini, 2019 Honda Monkey, Janice Allen, Trenton.
Best Pre-70, 1963 Cushman Super Silver Eagle, Jerry Groff, Imperial.
Longest Ride, Chase Einspahr, Lincoln, 309 miles.
