Gaps in the fencing can be seen along right field at Campbell Park, which city sales tax funds will help replace ahead of this summer’s State Junior Legion Tournament. Plans are to heighten the fence from 4 feet to 6 feet and run it all the way out to the curbing.
Close to $30,000 in city sales tax dollars has been committed for improvements at Campbell Park’s baseball field.
Summer employees including Recreation Director, Soccer Director and Groundskeepers were appointed and salaries set at last week’s city council meeting after recommendation from the park board.<

At a Tuesday public hearing, board members review the new rule proposals that will guide use of groundwater in the Upper Republican NRD over the next five years from 2023-2027.
Except for a question on accepting written testimony, there was no public comment at Tuesday’s Upper Republican NRD hearing on the district’s rules for the next five years.
Tevin Thompson, the man involved in a high-speed chase through Chase County March 3-4, will be in court March 22 for a preliminary hearing.
With Clerk/Administrator Jo Leyland retiring in early April, Monday’s Imperial city council meeting will be her last.
