It’s always tough to see the season end, but Coach Bruce Peterson told his team their 5-2 season-ending loss last week was to a very good Ogallala team. The seniors ended the short season with a 4-6 record and good prospects for next year.

    Life is what you make it, and  that also goes for this year’s scaled-back 4-H/FFA events during what would normally be fair week.

    In its weekly COVID-19 update, the Southwest Nebraska  Public Health Department (SWNPHD) on Monday reported 10 new positive cases in the district.

    With last week’s announcement that the Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department district was moving to Phase 4 Aug.

    Art Luhrs, Nick Luhrs and Tom Luhrs took the Red, White and Blue 3-Person Scramble  by one stroke July 25 Enders Lake Golf Course.

    Ogallala’s Gary Schreiner and Bob Murphy took top honors at the Senior 2-Man Scramble by four strokes over Dave Engel and Randy Styskal July 23.

    Matt Klima took first place at the Kenny Denker Memorial Men’s Open on Sunday, July 26 with a three-round score of 116.
