Imperial Manor employee Rachelle Carmin is very grateful for the support she’s received as a new member of the Nebraska National Guard.
She’s grateful for the support she received from Dietary Manager Kelsey Owens when Carmin began thinking about joining the Guard.
She’s also grateful for the time off from kitchen duty that Owens has given her for the weekends and weeks she’s needed for training.
Carmin asked the Guard to recognize Owens as a Patriotic Employer and presented her with a plaque Monday.
Carmin joined the Guard in November. “It’s something I’d always wanted to do,” she explained.
Of Owens, she added “She’s encouraged me to keep going and supported me all the way.” Owens is also organizing a Jogging for Frogmen race this spring to support the National Guard.
Carmin, who will be leaving the Manor in two weeks, has worked in the kitchen for three years.
