Imperial’s four department heads will see no increases in their salaries for 2010-11, based on figures in the city’s proposed budget.
However, other city employees will see an average of 3 percent pay raises if the budget is adopted as proposed.
Much of Monday night’s city council meeting was spent on the budget, but another work session was set for Monday, Aug. 30, at 5:30 p.m. to make final revisions.
Imperial Mayor Annie Longan noted Governor Dave Heineman is requesting that governmental agencies, including cities, consider freezing salaries for employees in administrative positions similar to what he ordered on the state level.
The four city department heads who would be affected by the freeze would be City Clerk/Administrator Jo Leyland, Public Works Supt. Pat Davison, Police Chief Larry Browning and Community Development Director Leslie Carlholm.
