Ten bricks, purchased to honor local veterans and their branches of service, have arrived, said Bud Statz, Veterans Memorial committee member.
The fire department was called to the home of Laura Co at 143 West 13th on Dec. 11 after she reported a grease fire on her stove.
Downtown Imperial was the place to be last Thursday.
After months of discussion, and at times, heated exchanges, the city council voted Monday to pay the $35,000 annual fee the county has been seeking for dispatch services.
