Rainbow Promise Preschool, located at The Imperial Methodist Church on 420 Holland Street, has joined the Imperial Chamber of Commerce. Friday, preschool staff and Chamber members met for a ribbon cutting to make it official. RPP currently has 47 students attending the school in various classes Monday-Friday from 8-11 a.m. Director, Tammy Siverson, said they have purchased a new “Mother Goose” curriculum that teaches standards that better prepare students for entering kindergarten. Silverson said their teaching curriculum includes more hands-on play based on more art, science experiments and less time spent with electronics. They encourage the students to do more exploring and express themselves in appropriate play. They’ve also been working on updating the inside and adding improvements outside. Those present for the ribbon cutting were from left Chamber members Leslie Nordhausen and Michelle Spady, Rhonda Hill-teacher, Lorrie Ringleman-teacher, Lori Ripley-Chamber, Adam Lambert-Chamber President, Tammy Siverson-RPP director, RPP teachers Ashleigh Mulder and Keila Lopez. Not pictured are teachers Diane Stamm and Estefania Franco, and teacher aide Olivia Hiykel.
