A shoutout to the fair board

We all wear many hats in our lives. One of the hats I wear is as an associate member of the fair board. So, as I write this column, I’m putting my publisher hat back on but relating my experience as a fair board member.
    The grand tradition the Chase County Fair started years ago with visionaries on the board who knew they could create something special here.
    Thanks to a long list of people over the years who have volunteered their time on the fair board, the tradition of the Chase County Fair lives on.
    It would be remiss of me not to also give a shoutout to all the other volunteers and donors who help make this fair what it is.
    If I were to try and list all these people and organizations, I would no doubt fail to include some.
    So, if you are one of those folks who gives of your time, your efforts or your money to contribute to the greatness of this fair, thank you. Give yourself a pat on the back. The fair board appreciates what you do.
    As a member of the board, I’m proud and astounded at the commitment my fellow board members make to ensure the fair’s success.
