Our fallen heroes may not be pleased
We just observed Memorial Day, a time to remember and honor those who gave the ultimate—their lives for our freedoms.
If there was a way these heroes could hope how their fellow Americans would respond during this important time of honoring them, I believe it would be to continue to fight for our freedoms and not take the U.S. Constitution for granted.
However, in some areas of this country, our heroes likely would not be pleased.
A look at many of our college campuses today could very well make American heroes turn over in their graves. Shouting down speakers with whom some students (and others from the outside on campuses just to rile things up) disagree is disgraceful.
There have always been speakers with whom we disagree on both sides, but it is sad that freedom of speech is so non-existent on campuses like the University of California at Berkeley. I shouldn’t say non-existent because there is plenty of free speech at podiums and at the head of classrooms there if your comments are left-leaning.
