Mike’s a Longhorn again

Honestly, in the assembly on the first day with him, we were all scared to death.

Let’s welcome back Mike Sorensen to Imperial, as he reprises his role as 7-12 principal at Chase County Schools.
Sorensen began his stint at CCS in 2006, which was my sophomore year at CCS.
Honestly, in the assembly on the first day with him, we were all scared to death. He put down the law and expected us to be good students.
He calmed down after a week, and was a favorite of mine during my years at CCS.
I remember him being at all our events—not just sports.
I commend the school board for hiring him, and I am excited to see him back in Imperial.
But will it be a rivalry at home, with Sorensen sporting Longhorn apparel, while his wife Nancy dons Plainsmen attire?
Nancy was recently hired for the elementary principal position at Perkins County Schools in Grant.
However the rivalry turns out, I’m just excited to have some truly great people moving back to the area.
Welcome back, Mike!
