Imperial gets some good ink

People who live here in Imperial and in Chase County know there’s something special about the place we call home. Now, others throughout Nebraska know about that too.
    That’s due to the good ink Imperial received Sunday in the Omaha World-Herald special Outlook section. The story focused on Tyler Pribbeno, who returned home to pursue his career here as a lawyer.
    Tyler’s right when he says Imperial’s cool. Not only is it cool but it’s progressive, supportive and safe.
    Pribbeno told the World-Herald reporter that he cherishes the lifestyle, the opportunities and the caring attitude of Imperial.
    While Imperial is no metropolis by any means, that doesn’t mean there aren’t opportunities here—especially if a person wants to get involved in community organizations.
    Pribbeno cited these qualities of Imperial that made him want to come back home.
    Imperial’s community foundation has made an impact on that, too. They let our young people who graduate from here know we’d like them to consider coming back home, whether that be after college or during their careers.
    The city and school work together to teach young students how to become an entrepreneur. Who knows whether that next idea becomes the reason for young people to come back to Imperial.
    Pribbeno said that kind of spirit was alive and well while growing up in Imperial. People in the community cared about his well-being.
    And with funding from the community foundation for his schooling, he knew the community was investing in both him and his future.
    Imperial can be proud of the reputation it’s built as a progressive, growing community. We must strive to never lose sight of that and keep the welcome mat out for those who want to come back home.
