Wrestlers ninth at joint SPVA/WTC conference meet

Chase County’s Longhorn wrestlers finished ninth in a 12-team field at the joint SPVA/Western Trails conference meet last Thursday at Bridgeport.
The two conferences planned a joint meet with individual and team placings to be awarded for each conference.
However, tournament organizers decided not to separate the results from each conference. Instead, there was just one set of trophies and one set of medals awarded.
Head coach Matt Vlasin said his team started the day sluggish and that set the tone for a rough day of results.
“We did have some good matches on the day,” Vlasin noted.
