Cole Hamilton advanced to the third place match at the Medicine Valley Invite with a pin of Southern Valley’s Gabe Grove.

WP wrestling readies for subdistricts

The regular season wrapped up Friday for the Wauneta-Palisade wrestling squad in Curtis at the Medicine Valley Invite.
Cole Hamilton placed fourth in the 220 pound bracket with a 2-2 day.
At 138 pounds, Hunter Miner won his first match before losing to 38-4 Garrett Lattimer of Southwest and falling one match short of the consolation match.
Conner Bryner also went 1-2 at 152 pounds. Bryner lost his final match to 35-3 Cameron Graham of Cross County/Osceola.
Trey McCrumb and Cody Holmes lost both their matches at 145 and 195 pounds, respectively.
Tennille Warembourg missed the Medicine Valley Invite to go to the NSWCA girls’ high school state tournament in York.
Warembourg finished one win short of the fifth place match after going 3-2.
Twenty wrestlers took part in Warembourg’s 142 pound bracket.
Up next
WP will travel to Maxwell for the D4-A subdistrict. Teams joining the Broncos will be Bayard, Hemingford, Hyannis, Kimball, Leyton, Maxwell, Minatare, Morrill, Mullen and Paxton.
The meet will begin at 12 noon.
