W/P Volleyball start season with 3-2 record

    The lady Broncos started the volleyball season Thursday, August 28, hosting Hitchcock County.
    It was a good opening night for the Broncos, sweeping Hitchcock Co., in three straight sets, 25-9, 25-14, and 25-22.
    Friday, Aug. 29, they traveled to Big Springs to play South Platte. Once again the Broncos swept the match in three sets, 25-11, 25-8 and 25-19, starting the year 2-0.
    The girls traveled to Cambridge for a tournament Sat., Aug 30 and played three matches.
    Up first was 2-0 Southwest. The Broncos won the first set 25-14, before Southwest turned the tide and won the next two games 20-25 and 22-25.
    In the second match of the day, the Broncos faced the hosts, Cambridge. In two very close sets, the Broncos took the loss with scores of 22-25 and 24-26.
    The third match was against Red Cloud. The first set was tight, with the Broncos holding on to a 26-24 win before taking the second set 25-16 to end the weekend with a 3-2 record.
    Next action will be Thursday, Sept., 4 at home against Cheylin at 5:30 p.m.
